The Detroit Lions have made an adjustment to the injury report ahead of Week 9’s matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
On Saturday, the Lions announced defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo and running Sione Vaki have been downgraded to out on Sunday. The two players also won’t be traveling with the team to Lambeau Field.
The team previously had Wingo and Vaki listed as doubtful to play.
Wingo appeared to injure his ankle during practice this week and Vaki was able to practice only once this past week due to a knee injury.
Wingo not being available further hurts a Lions team dealing with multiple injuries on the defensive line. Levi Onwuzurike will continue to see more time on the field as the Lions also signed defensive lineman Chris Smith to the active roster to provide more depth.
Pat O’Connor could also see more reps on Sunday as a result of Wingo’s injury.
Vaki has been an important piece to Detroit’s special teams, as finished second behind Kalif Raymond in overall special teams grade last week against the Tennessee Titans, according to Pro Football Focus.
