Davante Adams Believes in ‘R-E-L-A-X’

In 2016, the Green Bay Packers started the season 4-6 and looked like an unlikely contender to reach the postseason even with Aaron Rodgers as the starting quarterback.

One simple quote, though, changed everything.

“R-E-L-A-X.”

Those words resonated with the locker room and became the lightning rod for Rodgers and Green Bay’s six-game winning streak to end the year, and go on a playoff run that ended in the NFC Championship Game.

Now with the New York Jets, and joined by Davante Adams who was on that team then, Rodgers doesn’t have any slogans left to use to turn around the 3-6 squad, but there’s a similar vibe to how that turnaround started.

“It’s real similar to, I think it was 2016, run the table type. Just that type of energy,” Adams said on the Up And Adams Podcast. “He’s not creating more slogans. We’ve had many years of, you know, it was run the table, then it was relax. I’m not saying it’s going to be another run-the-table part two or something like that, but it’s definitely that type of energy.
