APPLETON — Wisconsin’s beloved comedian Charlie Berens will be returning to Appleton in February to film a stand-up comedy special.
Berens will take the stage at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center for two shows on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., for “NiteLite Presents: Charlie Berens ‘Good Old Fashioned Comedy Special,'” the PAC announced Tuesday. It will be one of many stops on Berens’ “Good Old Fashioned Tour,” which will play 127 shows across 88 cities.
Berens, a comedian from Oconomowoc, rose to fame around 2017 for his YouTube video series “Manitowoc Minute” and has since launched podcasts “Cripescast” and “Bellied Up,” become a New York Times Best Selling Author for the book “The Midwest Survival Guide” and garnered millions of followers on social media for his content that pokes fun at and celebrates Midwest culture.
“My first stand up show ever was in Appleton at Skyline Comedy Club back in 2017 shortly after the Manitowoc Minute took off,” Berens said in a statement. “So for this stand up special, I wanted to bring it back to the city that was kind enough to first welcome me on stage.”
