Ten-year-old northeast Wisconsin girl creates ‘I Got Your Back’ program to benefit foster kids

LUXEMBURG, Wis. (WFRV) – Paisley Brien is a ten-year-old from Luxemburg who has created a program called “I Got Your Back” in an effort to make a difference one kid at a time.

“My family is always looking for ways to give back to the community, and I wanted to do something new and make kids going into foster care feel more at home with comfort items, hygiene items,” explained Brien.

Paisley beamed as she talked about how much fun it had been putting the backpacks together. She told Local 5’s Samantha Petters she wants to help other kids feel as fortunate as she does.

“We’ve done respite and foster care, and Kewaunee has no ongoing projects to help with foster care,” she said. “It’s been exciting putting the backpacks together and seeing how well the community has responded, and it makes me feel happy.”

Paisley’s parents expressed how remarkable it has been to see Paisley show so much care for others and take the initiative to chase after her dreams.
