Wisconsin park trail system to close for Sewer Rehab Project until June 2025

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – In early December, a portion of the woodchip trail system within Heesakker Park closed and won’t reopen until June 2025 due to the ongoing Interceptor Rehabilitation Project.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Kaukauna Government , this closure is a crucial safety measure as crews prepare for the next phase of work, which will begin in spring 2025, ahead of the opening of the adjacent lock.

While the woodchip trails will be affected, officials say the Heritage Parkway Trail will remain open and accessible throughout the project. Additionally, materials will be placed next to the paved trail system in the spring, though no closures are expected.
