(WFRV) – Wisconsin drivers looking to travel on I-41 New Year’s morning may have needed to find an alternate route as the highway was blocked for some time by both a crash and a fire.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), at 2:57 a.m., emergency crews responded extensively to a reported crash on I41 South at Wrightstown Road near Wrightstown.
The crash reportedly blocked all the lanes in both directions and at 4:42 a.m. the scene was cleared and all lanes were re-opened.

Then in Brown County, WisDOT officials say at 3:29 a.m. all lanes were blocked on I-41 North near mile marker 156.5 because of a reported fire.
Officials were able to clear the scene of the fire at 4:36 a.m. and all the lanes of I-41 North have since been reopened.
There is no other information available about either incident. Local Five will update this story should additional details be released.
