St. Paul Elder Services provided the following statement:

“St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna is currently managing a norovirus outbreak at St. Paul Home, our long-term care community. Additionally, early signs of the virus spreading to St. Paul Villa, an assisted living community, have been identified. This outbreak is impacting both residents and associates.

Our top priority is the health and safety of everyone at our campus. To help control the spread, we are encouraging frequent handwashing for associates and residents. We have made staffing adjustments to guarantee consistent care for our residents.

We are not restricting visitation, but we strongly discourage visits until further notice to protect the health and safety of our residents, associates, visitors, and the community. Additionally, although masks do not prevent norovirus transmission, we recommend visitors wear masks to help prevent the spread of any respiratory illnesses, which could compound the current situation.

Preventing illness outbreaks in living settings like ours is highly challenging, especially when the virus is also widespread in the broader community. We deeply appreciate the community’s patience and support as we work through this challenging time.”
