(WFRV) – Officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol say Trooper Sconnie has returned on this National Bobble Head Day to remind drivers about the importance of mile markers.
In a post on social media , the Wisconsin State Patrol explains that mile markers are the blue and green numbered signs along all of the highways throughout the state.
These mile markers are said to be installed either on the right side of the highway or in the median and are placed every mile or every two-tenths of a mile.

Troopers with the Wisconsin State Patrol say these mile markers are helpful for several reasons including the following:
- Creates fewer delays in responses for assistance
- Faster clearance of traffic incidents
- Leads to fewer secondary crashes
Wisconsin State Patrol troopers add that drivers should always note their closest mile marker should they ever be in a situation where they need to call for assistance.
