GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Even though 2025 has started on a cooler note, it’s a stark contrast to the year prior, as 2024 is now the warmest year on record in Green Bay’s history.
How did 2024 become the warmest on record? To begin, every month ran above average, as not a single month finished below average in terms of temperatures.
Secondly, the highest above-average temperatures occurred during typically cooler months, with February running 12 degrees above normal.
That was the warmest February in history for Green Bay, breaking the previous record by 2 degrees. While that doesn’t sound impressive, the difference between the second and 15th warmest is also 2 degrees. Recall that Green Bay also observed its first day reaching 70 degrees on February 27.
