As we prepare for the time change, here’s everything you need to know about when it begins and ends, why it exists, and whether any changes to DST laws are expected in the near future.

When Does Daylight Saving Time Start in 2025?

Each year, states that participate in DST move their clocks forward on the second Sunday in March. In 2025, that means the official time change will take place at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 9 .
