Springtime? April Fools! Winter storm set to dump a foot of snow

Some North Shore residents do not find Mother Nature’s idea of an April Fool’s joke very funny this year.

Instead of continued 40-degree temperatures and sunshine, residents can expect 10 to 14 inches of snow starting this evening as a powerful winter storm sweeps through the region.

Kevin Huyck, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Duluth, said the low-pressure system is “coming out of Colorado,” the trajectory appears to take it right through East Central Minnesota, up in Northwest Wisconsin, and along the Lake Superior shoreline…
