ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – The National Guard gave a special thank you to teachers in the Green Bay area on Wednesday, offering them a unique experience: a ride in a Blackhawk helicopter.
“It was amazing. Flying over Lambeau was crazy,” said Emily Vanschyndel, a teacher at Green Bay West. “I was talking to one of the other people on the flight, and I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to fly over when there is a full crowd.”

The National Guard says connecting with local educators is crucial, as it helps them share with students the many opportunities available after high school. Having teachers experience those opportunities firsthand enhances that mission.
“A lot of them definitely will have a lot more they can take back to their schools now,” said Vanschyndel. “Whether it be trade opportunities or things like being an EMT, there is just a whole bunch of job options for them.”…
