Wisconsin Lake Michigan Wind Warning: 6-Foot Waves From Milwaukee to Door County Until 4 A.M. Sunday

Green Bay, Wis. – Strong winds and rising waves are expected to create hazardous conditions along the Lake Michigan shoreline through early Sunday, prompting warnings for swimmers and boaters across eastern Wisconsin.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a Beach Hazards Statement and Small Craft Advisory are in effect from 1 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday. Wind gusts up to 25 mph and wave heights building to 3–6 feet will make swimming dangerous and boating difficult, especially for smaller vessels. The threat spans from Sheboygan and Manitowoc up through Kewaunee, Door County, and Green Bay.

Rip currents are likely to develop along open beaches, particularly where strong onshore winds funnel water toward shore. Swimmers should stay out of the water, and pier access is discouraged due to the risk of being swept off by waves…
