Wisconsin Tornado Watch: Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay at Risk Until 6 p.m. Wednesday

Milwaukee, Wis. – A wide swath of southern and central Wisconsin is under a Tornado Watch until 6 p.m. Wednesday, with storms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes across at least 36 counties.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, Tornado Watch 517 includes major population centers such as Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and La Crosse. Thunderstorms will increase in intensity throughout the afternoon, with the greatest tornado potential between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. CDT.

Counties affected include Dane, Waukesha, Rock, Kenosha, Fond du Lac, Outagamie, and Racine. Residents in rural and urban areas alike should have multiple ways to receive warnings and be ready to seek shelter if sirens sound.
