Green Bay community mourns local Drag Icon and Kenosha Pride Legend, Carmel Bliss

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The LGBTQIA+ community across Wisconsin,  from Green Bay to Kenosha,  is grieving the sudden loss of beloved drag queen Carmel Bliss, born Kyle Hayes, who died unexpectedly on July 14, 2025, at just 30 years old.

A cherished performer at Napalese Lounge in Green Bay and popular venues statewide, Carmel Bliss was celebrated for her passion for drag, dedication to LGBTQIA+ causes, and kind, generous spirit.

Carmel’s groundbreaking success as a bearded drag performer was historic: she made history as one of the first of her kind to win Miss Kenosha Pride (2023) and Miss Club Icon (2024).
