A Green Bay landlord is being sued for discrimination. One group aims to help Wisconsin renters avoid such discrimination

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) will move forward with a lawsuit against a Green Bay landlord, David Jones and D Jones Properties LLC, after prosecutors said he “discriminated on the basis of sex in violation of the Fair Housing Act (FHA).”

According to the DOJ, Jones manages multiple properties in Green Bay. According to the DOJ, a complaint said “he engaged in severe, pervasive and unwelcome sexual harassment of a female tenant by, among other things, making unwelcome sexual comments, grabbing the tenant without her consent, entering the tenant’s home without her permission and taking adverse housing-related actions against the tenant when she asserted her rights under the FHA.”

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages to compensate the person who was allegedly harassed. It also seeks a court order to bar any future discrimination, the DOJ said…
