Police Seek Driver Who Killed Bride-To-Be, Injured Her Fiancé In Pilsen Hit-And-Run

PILSEN — Police are looking for the driver of an SUV involved in the Pilsen hit-and-run that killed a 22-year-old woman and seriously injured her fiancé.

At 11:19 p.m. July 19, the driver of a four-door, dark-colored Dodge Journey hit Marcela Herrera and her fiancé, 21-year-old Mauricio Leyva, as they crossed an intersection in the 2000 block of South Ashland Avenue, police said.

The driver sped off, police previously said. The car, which was traveling northbound, has a broken right headlight and could have damage to the front right bumper and front right quarter panel, police said…
