Man accused of firing gun into the air at Erb Park pleads no contest

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – A man accused of being involved in a ‘shots fired’ incident at Erb Park in Appleton last year has changed his plea from “not guilty” to “no contest.”

Tyrese Tupac Shakir Simmons pleaded not guilty last year to charges of Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Bail Jumping, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

Simmons pleaded no contest on Tuesday to the charges of Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The other charges were dismissed but read into the record, meaning those other charges could still be considered during sentencing…
