GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Emotions spilled out in Brown County court during a hearing for a man charged in a 2-year-old boy’s death.
James Vanderleest faces multiple charges, including first-degree reckless homicide, after the death of Leo Escalante in June. Tuesday’s hearing was to go over his felony bail jumping charges and schedule future court dates.
Despite a warning from the judge, tensions ran high as Vanderleest left the courtroom. Some people in the gallery shouted at Vanderleest as he was leaving the room and held up signs with messages like “Justice for Leo” and “Every child matters.”…
