OCONTO – A married couple from the Oconto Historical Society board were elected chair and vice chair of the city’s Old Hospital Ad Hoc Committee on Aug. 13 with the goal of saving the historic building.
“We’re here representing the citizens of Oconto and we want what is best. We’re also here representing the historical society and our mission of saving historic buildings,” said Dave Retzlaff, who was elected vice chair. Before accepting the nomination, he asked if being married to the chair would be an issue. No one said it would be a problem.
