Appleton Police stop driver going 40+mph over the speed limit on College Avenue Bridge

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Appleton say they recently made a stop of a driver going more than 40 miles per hour over the speed limit on the College Avenue Bridge.

According to a post on social media from the Appleton Police Department, in the past week, officers stopped a vehicle going 72mph on the College Avenue Bridge, which is a 30mph zone.

Officials with the Appleton Police Department say “driving at these speeds is unacceptable,” and their officers will continue to take action in response to any violations that may put the community at risk.

Officers add that anyone who chooses to disregard speed limits will be “stopped and cited.”…
