ABRAMS – Sarah Heimke of Abrams loves a farmers market and hopes others appreciate the sense of community it brings to the town.
It was Heimke’s idea to put a farmers market in the center of town every other Sunday for local growers, bakers and crafts people to sell their locally produced food and wares.
About 150 to 200 people have shopped at the market when it’s held every other Sunday outside the Town Hall at 5877 Main St. in Abrams, she said. Abrams is described as “a good place to grow” on the town website, and residents say they want to preserve the area as a farming community.
