Green Bay man charged with choking girlfriend

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — A Green Bay man has been charged with trying to kill his girlfriend.

Floyd Simmons, 62, faces six counts, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide and strangulation and suffocation.

Prosecutors say the incident happened Friday at Jackson Square Park in downtown Green Bay. The victim, a 57-year-old woman, told officers she and Simmons got into an argument about her paying rent as she was planning to move into his apartment. The victim said Simmons then choked her. She was able to fight him off, and ran to a nearby hotel to call for help…
