‘I should’ve killed her’: Green Bay man accused of strangling girlfriend & threatening to kill police officer, bond at $100k

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 62-year-old Green Bay man faces numerous charges, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide, after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend on Friday, August 29.

In a criminal complaint acquired by Local 5, Floyd Simmons faces the following six charges:

  1. Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide
    • Up to 60 years in prison, if convicted
  2. Strangulation and Suffocation
    • Up to $10,000 in fines and/or six years in prison, if convicted
  3. Disorderly Conduct
    • Up to $1,000 in fines and/or 90 days in prison, if convicted
  4. Threatening to Cause Bodily Harm to Certain Individuals Involved With a Court or Legal System
    • Up to $10,000 in fines and/or six years in prison, if convicted
  5. Obstructing an Officer
    • Up to $10,000 in fines and/or nine months in prison, if convicted
  6. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
    • Up to $500 in fines and/or 30 days in prison, if convicted

The criminal complaint alleges that on Friday morning, around 2:19, officers were sent to the Hampton Inn for a report of a woman who was strangled by Simmons during an argument. The woman said she was unable to breathe and had nearly lost consciousness…
