ThedaCare in Neenah showcases readiness for emergencies during mass-casualty drill

NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – Emergencies can arise at any time, and few know this better than people in the medical field.

On Thursday evening, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah held a pediatric mass-casualty drill, along with local law enforcement and other first responders.

The goal was to practice and showcase how prepared officials are in case of the most significant emergencies imaginable through mock exercises from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

“The more that we practice and collaborate, the better we can handle a situation like this in real life,” Trauma Program Manager Gretchen Reiland said.

While emergency departments are generally designed for adults, ThedaCare officials say that many aren’t equipped for large numbers of critically ill children who may require specialized care…
