GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With students back in school and temperatures dropping, Brown County Health and Human Services reports a rise in respiratory illnesses like the flu, COVID-19 and RSV.

“Once school started, we saw an increase in the flu virus as well as COVID-19; however, we’re seeing it slightly decrease as well,” Public Health Officer Anna Nick said. “We know that as the temperatures drop, we’ll see an increase in other respiratory illnesses circulating.”
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says respiratory viruses are increasing statewide, and local health leaders want people to focus on prevention before cases spike again.
“Things that are really important are staying home when sick, washing hands and covering sneezes and coughs, and of course staying up to date on your vaccines,” Nick said…
