Trial date set for Appleton food truck murder suspect

APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Conflicting attorneys’ schedules and a judge’s impending retirement led to a Sept. 21, 2026, trial being set Tuesday for Elliot Campbell, who allegedly shot and killed Elijah Dodson in an Appleton food truck line on Christmas Eve, 2023.

Campbell, 22, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide for the incident just off College Avenue. He is currently in custody on a $1 million cash bond.

In court Tuesday, the attorneys said a two-week window is needed for the trial. Between various conflicts, and the retirement of Judge Mitchell Metropulos on July 31, the September date was picked…
