Market on Military to receive funding toward permanent location

The Military Avenue farmers market is closer to having a permanent home at Murphy park.

On Nov. 4, the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Green Bay passed a motion to approve $500,000 in TIF funding for the construction of a parking lot and site work of a multi-use building on the southeast side of Murphy Park, at 203. N. Military Ave. in Green Bay. The project, which was first presented and approved in May by the Park’s Committee, would allow the Military Avenue Business Association to use it as office space and for its farmers market, called Market on Military.

Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) is a public financing tool used by local governments to fund economic development and infrastructure projects in designated areas.
