Green Bay Police Department mourning death of retired, 6-year veteran K9 Puma

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Police Department announced on Thursday that it is in mourning after the death of a beloved former colleague.

K9 Puma, a six-year veteran of the force, died on Wednesday, November 12, the department said on Facebook. The four-legged officer served with the force for over six years until retiring alongside Officer Conley.

“Puma’s loyalty, dedication and heroism will never be forgotten,” the post said. “Rest easy, K9 Puma. You will always be part of the GBPD family.”

K9 Puma joined the force in 2018 and completed over 1,000 deployments, with plenty of impressive achievements as follows:

  • 48 physical apprehensions
  • Nearly 300 non-contact apprehensions
  • 76 Packers games, numerous Badgers games
  • Assisted with security details
  • Participated at multiple events:
    • Manchester City vs. Bayern Munich soccer match at Lambeau in 2022
    • Multiple concerts
