APPLETON, Wis. — Appleton Mayor Jake Woodford spent some time with Spectrum News 1 to talk about how the city educates residents on government and homeownership.
Since being sworn in five years ago, Woodford has helped elevate a program called the Resident Leadership Academy. The program provides an in-person, immersive experience to learn about local government, laws and protecting citizens’ rights and well-being.
“Over the course of an 11-week program, residents who apply and get selected to participate have the opportunity to tour various city facilities around the community and learn about the functions of all of our departments…” Woodford said…
