18-year-old driver to stand trial in fatal Appleton OWI crash

APPLETON (WLUK) – Carter Green, the underage suspect in a fatal traffic crash who allegedly had a blood alcohol level more than double the legal limit and was driving more than 130 mph, was ordered Monday to stand trial.

Green, 18, is charged with first-degree reckless homicide and two misdemeanors for the Oct. 4 crash which killed one person and injured two others.

Green waived a preliminary hearing Monday. He returns to court Dec. 3 for an arraignment.

According to the criminal complaint, emergency crews responded to a crash near Richmond Street and Interstate 41 at about 1:30 a.m. One person was taken to the hospital, and later was pronounced dead. The victim’s name has not been released…
