BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – A Pound woman is formally charged with killing a Two Rivers man and injuring two members of his family in a Thanksgiving Day crash.
Brown County prosecutors charged Cheryl Mitchell, 67, with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle while having a prior intoxicant-related conviction/ revocation and two counts of injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
The crash
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office crash reconstruction unit said an SUV hit a minivan head-on on southbound Interstate 43 in New Denmark, near the on-ramp of Highway 96.
Three people in the SUV were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A 37-year-old man died from his injuries Saturday. One of the surviving parents had a broken hip and pelvis, the other required surgery for a broken femur and also had two broken ankles…
