Wind chills approach 30 below zero today and tomorrow as arctic air takes over the weekend.
Both Saturday and Sunday are First Alert Weather Days. By early Saturday morning, nasty wind chills in the twenties below zero are likely. These “feels-like” temperatures are cold enough to create frostbite on exposed skin in 10-20 minutes. Harsh wind chills of -15 to -25 will be likely all the way through Sunday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for most of our area. Highs on Saturday will struggle to climb above zero.
With this frigid air mass in place this weekend, we encourage folks to limit their time outside if possible. Wear multiple layers of clothes and cover exposed skin to avoid frostbite and hypothermia. Keep an eye on children, seniors, and pets…
