Over two-week jury trial set for one of four Outagamie County adults charged in chronic child neglect case

ONEIDA, Wis. (WFRV) – One of the four adults charged in a chronic child neglect case in Outagamie County that officials say left a 14-year-old at just 35 pounds is set for a prolonged trial.

One critically injured after multi-vehicle, chain reaction crash in Green Lake County

On December 19, 28-year-old Kayla Stemler appeared in court via video from custody, pleading not guilty during her arraignment hearing and waiving her right to a preliminary hearing.

The court found probable cause and bound her over for trial, with a motion hearing set for March 5, 2026, at 11 a.m.. Stemler’s $150,000 cash bond was continued.

In addition, the court set aside 11 dates for a jury trial, all of which start at 8:15 a.m. as follows:

  • August 17-21, 2026
  • August 24-28, 2026
  • August 31, 2026
