“Highways are an ice rink”: Weather causing unsafe driving conditions in northeast Wisconsin

(WFRV) – Blowing snow and freezing temperatures are making commutes throughout northeast Wisconsin difficult on Monday morning, with some officials saying, “the highways are an ice rink.“

Current road conditions indicate that many roads and highways in the area are slippery and partially snow-covered, with Brown County Public Safety Communications advising drivers to use alternate routes on Monday morning.

Manitowoc fire under investigation following vehicle fire, no injuries reported

Multiple crashes are being reported by WisDOT, extending from the Fond du Lac area to the greater Green Bay area. Brown County officials have stated that a tow ban is also in place.

In Manitowoc, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says it is responding to several crashes and vehicles in ditches due to the hazardous winter driving conditions. Drivers are asked to remember to slow down, prepare extra time for their commutes, and make sure their headlights are on…
