Local Protest Stands for Minnesota

Protests erupted across the nation after Green Bay native Alex Pretti was shot and killed in Minneapolis on Saturday, Jan. 24, by federal immigration enforcement agents – U.S. Border Patrol agents under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Door County was no exception, with an impromptu protest taking place at Sawyer Park near the Oregon Street Bridge in downtown Sturgeon Bay on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 25. Between 50 and 75 people gathered, holding signs and marching across the Oregon Street bridge, down 3rd Avenue and back on the Michigan Street bridge.
