Reckless driving complaint in Appleton leads to OWI arrest

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – One man is now in custody for his first OWI offense following an investigation into a reckless driving complaint in Appleton, authorities say.

According to the Appleton Police Department, officers were recently called to the 1400 block of South Driscoll Street for reports of someone driving erratically up and down a curb while also honking the vehicle’s horn.

Officials say the initial caller of the complaint provided police with the license plate of the vehicle in question. Police responding to the scene found the vehicle and the suspected driver nearby.

The man admitted to honking the vehicle’s horn but denied driving. Surveillance video provided by the person who made the reckless driver complaint appeared to prove otherwise…
