Northeast Wisconsin day care worker awaits trial for giving melatonin to babies

NEENAH, Wis. — A northeast Wisconsin day care worker is scheduled to stand trial in March for one count of child neglect.

Annalee Salas Nitz worked at a YMCA in Neenah, taking care of the one-and-a-half-year-olds.

According to a criminal complaint, Nitz admitted last November to law enforcement officers that she put melatonin in the food of two children at the day care. The complaint states that Nitz also admitted she could have given melatonin to all the children in the room over the past couple of months…
