Appleton Man Sentenced in Fatal Texting and Driving Crash

An Appleton man has been sentenced for his role in a fatal crash in 2022.

FOX11 reports that 26-year-old Bailey Laux was ordered to spend two years in prison followed by two years of extended supervision, after he was found guilty due to a no-contest plea on a charge of Homicide by Negligent Operation of a Vehicle.

The defense and prosecution had come to an agreement that would have kept Laux out of jail, but Judge Emily Lonergan said that the extended probation would not be a severe enough punishment, resulting in the two-year imprisonment…
