GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – A Green Bay homeless shelter is running low on mobility equipment as the number of residents needing it has risen over the past two years.
New Community Shelter recently received a donation that included some mobility items, but program staff said the supply is not enough to meet current demand. Wheelchairs, scooters, canes and walkers are among the top needs.
30 residents in need
30 residents at the shelter currently need mobility equipment. Of those, 28 are over the age of 55, according to Program Director Katie Sprister.
