APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Appleton’s Safety and Licensing Committee voted unanimously Wednesday night to recommend approval of a special events permit for a “No Kings” rally planned for March 28, despite organizers missing the city’s 45-day notice requirement by eight days.
The exemption would be one of only a handful granted since the policy took effect 14 months ago.
The rally, organized by the Fox Valley group Esther, would be the third “No Kings” protest in Appleton since President Donald Trump was elected. Organizers said they are expanding the event this time, which triggered the special events permit requirement…
