Green Bay police share safety tips for Facebook Marketplace sales

A person attempting to sell an item via Facebook Marketplace on Jan. 31 reported having a gun pulled on them during the exchange, according to the Green Bay Police Department.

The police department has not yet confirmed whether it was a real gun, Capt. Tom Denney said. No one was injured in the incident, which Denney said appears to have been an attempted armed robbery.

Incidents like this are “not a daily occurrence” in Green Bay, Denney said. “This is just about worst case scenario for how this can go.”…
