KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WBAY) – In a small gym with a ten-foot ring, Nick Maher thought he was starting something modest.
“When I started it, I thought, you know, I had a ten-foot ring. I thought if I get two or three kids in the next five years, I’d be lucky,” Maher recalled. “But within a month, I had ten kids. Within two, three months, I had 20 kids. And they just kept coming.”
In less than three years, that humble idea has grown into Electric City Chuters — a fast-rising boxing program that’s turning heads at the state, regional, and national levels, and changing lives far beyond the ropes.
