INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) – Purdue Fort Wayne women’s basketball had a familiar ending in the Horizon League Tournament with a 73-48 loss to top-seed Green Bay in the conference semifinals on Monday.
This is the Mastodons’ fourth straight loss to Green Bay in the conference tournament. Purdue Fort Wayne only converted 18-of-54 shots (33.3%) in Monday’s loss, hitting just three triples from beyond the arc. The Mastodons also committed 16 turnovers, while Green Bay dominated on the glass with a 47-27 edge in rebounds.
Purdue Fort Wayne got off to a solid start offensively. Rylee Bess drilled a 3-pointer at the 6:26 mark of the first quarter to give the Mastodons a 9-7 lead. However, Purdue Fort Wayne suffered through an 11-minute scoring drought that stretched into the midway point of the second quarter.
