Dispatcher resigns during county meeting claiming ‘mismanagement,’ toxicity

After 19 years as a dispatcher for Brown County, Jennifer Conley of De Pere gave her two weeks notice at the March 18 Public Safety Committee, saying the dispatch center is “being run on control, fear tactics and threats.”

For months, Brown County dispatchers have been speaking out at county board and committee meetings about the impacts of ongoing staffing shortages and changes from management including reducing overall staffing, a new shift schedule and a new overtime policy.
