After hours of public comment, the Green Bay School Board meeting on March 23 ended with a few actions to address an upcoming multimillion-dollar budget deficit.
The School Board voted to close the Edison Middle School pool and approved changes to employee benefits. The board also took two options off their list of cuts to explore: ending board meeting livestreams and decreasing the number of school days.
The Green Bay School District announced in February that it was projecting a budget deficit of up to $8 million in 2026-27, and $24 million to $32 million in 2027-28.
