Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office issues No Wake order

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Due to rising water levels, the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office has issued a No Wake order for all waterways in Outagamie County, effective immediately.

Under Outagamie County Ordinance Sec. 34-25, during a declared flood emergency, no one may operate a boat faster than slow-no-wake when traveling within 500 feet of any permanent building, structure, bridge, or pier. The ordinance notes this restriction does not apply to a floating raft.

The Sheriff’s Office said it monitors water levels using the National Weather Service Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service, specifically the Shiocton gauge location…
