134 households at risk of being homeless again if Newcap grants aren’t transferred

(WLUK) — 134 households are at risk of losing the roofs over their heads in the wake of Newcap’s planned closure, according to advocates for ending homelessness.

Carrie Poser, executive director of Wisconsin Balance of State Continuum of Care, says Housing and Urban Development (HUD) officials confirmed the agency is not transferring grants that were awarded to Newcap, despite identifying “experienced compliant nonprofit agencies that are ready to assume these grants without delay.”
