Maple Syrup 5K & Fun Run benefits Brown County Parks and Youth Programs

SUAMICO, Wis. (WFRV) – Runners and all members of the family got a chance to hit the trails this weekend in Brown County for the Maple Syrup 5K and Mini Maple Fun Run.

The event took place at the Brown County Reforestation Camp, with the 5K and the Mini Maple Fun Run being held to celebrate maple syrup as a Wisconsin staple. Both runs brought all members of Brown County families together with participants earning some tasty rewards at the finish line, including local maple syrup and a pancake breakfast.

Organizers of the event say the Maple Syrup 5K and the Mini Maple Fun Run are all about enjoying the outdoors, staying active, and supporting local trails and youth programs.

So we are here celebrating our girlfriend’s birthday, she turned 70, and we thought “what a way!” Maple syrup, her grandpa, my daughter’s grandpa, makes maple syrup also, so we wanted to come and enjoy the day. It’s important for your mental health and for your physical health just to enjoy yourself, get out, and get some fresh air.
