GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – As sunshine and warmer temperatures draw people outdoors across Green Bay, emergency officials are urging residents to turn their attention to severe weather preparedness.
Local leaders are highlighting the importance of readiness during Severe Weather Awareness efforts, encouraging the public to take proactive steps before storms strike.

“The purpose of this week is to encourage the public to become more informed and more resilient to these types of severe weather effects,” Brown County Emergency Management director, Daniel Kane said.
According to county officials, Wisconsin has averaged about 30 tornadoes per year over the past decade. However, recent years have exceeded that mark, with 45 tornadoes reported in 2024 and 39 in 2025…
